Resources
RIACC has developed a series of resource elements to assist you both in terms of learning effective planning and interaction with other boards, developers and agencies and in keeping you abreast of the latest model ordinances, strategies and planning. On these pages you will also find a model Conservation Commission Handbook that was developed by RIACC, and through field testing, has been updated and modified to best suit today’s needs. Our special thanks to the North Smithfield Conservation Commission for their hours of hard work in creating this updated model of the RIACC handbook. Please feel free to use this book in its entirety. You will need to make slight modifications to suit your community, but this can easily serve as the perfect base for all commissions.

From the Chairman's Desk
RIACC is committed to its member commissions and is always seeking new ideas on how we might meet that goal. Commissions and commissioners are in the field and at the meetings where things occur that can be good or bad and that kind of information can help us shape conservation efforts statewide. You are RIACC’s eyes and ears on the ground and are often times aware of events and issues that need to be known by all. We urge you to share those gems of wisdom and knowledge with your fellow commissioners.
This website can serve as the focal point for commissions both in terms of database information and as a conduit for keeping the lines of communication open. Please help us all by being a part of that strategy. Send your comments, ideas, thoughts and questions here or post it on the site forum.
